Compiled during Tobey's undergraduate years at Harvard University, this scrapbook provides a picture of undergraduate student life from 1908-1912. It has high concentrations of ephemera from sporting events and theater programs for Boston and Cambridge theaters. Additional items of interest include material related to the military (including correspondence with Battery A, First Massachusetts Field Artillery and photographs), programs and ephemera related to Harvard events, and letters regarding a discplinary matter.

Walter Philip Tobey, born in Boston in 1891, earned his Harvard AB in 1912. His military service began on the Mexican border in 1916 with Battery A, First Massachusetts Field Atillery and continued in World War I as captain of Headquarters Company, 101st Field Artillery, 26th Division.
